“Live on tape from Dublin & Belfast…”
Nothing Is Real began in May 2019 and is currently eight seasons old.
The goal is to look at The Beatles from as many different angles as possible with hosts Steven Cockcroft and Jason Carty.
The events, the songs, the moments, the albums, the coincidences, the happenings, the effects, the triumphs, the failures, the people, The Beatles, John, Paul, George Ringo - all of it, and more, gets covered on Nothing Is Real.
Season One
Nothing In Real started in May 2019 as an in-studio podcast. As the series evolved we visited Abbey Road, interviewed Mark Lewisohn and did a live show with an audience.
Season Two
Nothing Is Real returned in June 2020, a little later than expected due to the global situation. Before being evicted from the studio we sat down with Robyn Hitchcock, and lockdown recording led to deep dives on the Beatles Anthology and the year 1974.
Season Three
After a brief summer break, Nothing Is Real returned in September 2020. There were three albums celebrating a 50th birthdays: Plastic Ono BAnd (John and Yoko’s), McCartney and a three episodes look at All Things Must Pass. There was also the surprise release of a new rockdown album: McCartney III
Season Four
From The Ed Sullivan Show through The Ballad of John & Yoko to The Travelling Wilburys there was a lot of ground to cover. Plus we talk to a member of Wings.
Season Five
The White Album, Rubber Soul, The Sgt Pepper Movie and the most exciting thing to happen in the Beatleverse this century, Peter Jackson’s The Beatles Get Back
Season Six
For season six, Nothing Is Real tried something new: an arc. We looked at the people, moments and events that brought the Beatles from the cosseted creativity of the Brian Epstein era to the wild west of Allen Klein. Whatever you do, don’t call it From Brian to Klein.
A Splendid Time Is Guaranteed For All.
Stop & Smell the Ringo
Season Seven
After our sixth season’s arc of From Brian To Klein, season seven kicked off with…another review of Allen Klein. We also focused on other people in the Beatle universe like Derek Taylor and Stuart Sutcliffe, and the magic of August 23rd.
